Is breastfeeding linked to smarter kids?

Research shows that the longer you breastfeed the better your kids learning abilities.

This study was done by JAMA Pediatrics, found that longer breastfeeding duration was associated with improved verbal and nonverbal intelligence at the age of 7 compared to kids who were formula-fed. Breast milk contains DHA which is important for baby’s brain growth and development. This study showed

  • Better language skills at the age of 3,
  • Improved verbal and nonverbal intelligence at the age of 7 compared to kids who were formula-fed.

These children were far way better in their academic grades compared to formula fed babies. Breastfeeding for a minimum of 1 month even showed better IQ in later life.

So breastfeed your baby as long as you can and as much as you can. It’s a ‘GIFT OF LIFETIME’
