Healthy Snack for Kids- Date Filled Cookies

Then fill your cookie jar with these date-filled cookies.In the Middle East, these healthy cookies are called Maamoul.This is the simple version of Maamoul recipe. Dates are rich sources of Iron and Potassium but some kids don’t like to eat the dry fruit as such.So try this and see

Semolina is high in potassium,vitamin B , E and other minerals and Dates which are rich sources of iron , potassium, and massive other nutrients

Healthy Snack for Kids- Date Filled Cookies 


  • 1 cup semolina(rava)
  • 1/3 cup wheat flour
  • 1egg
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted ghee
  • Milk powder (optional)

For Filling

Date paste/ dates pitted,grind and knead with some oil. If your dates are on the dry side, soak them in hot water for 15 minutes, then drain them


1.Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and sugar until fluffy

2. Add the semolina, wheat flour, milk powder and knead it

3. Pour the melted ghee into the semolina mixture and knead again until well combined. Cover it for 30 min.

4. Preheat oven to 400ºF.

5. Take a small amount of dough and try rolling it into a ball. Flatten the dough ball, place the date paste inside and seal the dough making sure the filling is completely enclosed by the dough and shape it into a ball and then flatten them to a cookie shape.

6. Bake 6-7 minutes or until golden brown. Watch carefully because they can burn easily.
