But what about Nuts shake.This smoothie recipe is contributed by Athira which is a protein rich and high calorie shake(helps in weight gain) suitable for toddlers as baby’s below 1 year can’t take cows milk as such.

Athira Vibineesh is a housewife as well as a mother of 1.4 years old boy. She is a MBA graduate and now residing outside India and taking care of her husband and son. She loves cooking and always try to cook different varieties of dishes. As her baby is a perky eater, she tries new variety dishes for him. She is very happy to share one of her recipes with us.

Smoothie Recipe: NUTS SHAKE for TODDLERS

Ingredients:

  • Milk (boiled) – 1 glass
  • Cashew nuts- 4
  • Badam/Almonds- 4
  • Dates- 4
  • Cardamom powder – 1 pinch

Preparation

Soak cashew & badam for more than 2 hours and dates for 15 minutes.

Add the soaked ingredients along with cardamom powder into milk and blend. Make a fine shake.

Nuts are high in fat is in the mono- and polyunsaturated fats , they raise our “good” cholesterol levels (high-density lipoprotein or HDL) and typically contain essential vitamins like A, D, E and K
